The architectural scene is of exceptional interest for the size, style and originality of its buildings. Ollanta is known as the only living Inca town, which is the gateway to the town of Aguas Calientes (Machupichu town), which is only 1.30 minutes by train. In this town you will visit the only Inca fortress that has resisted the attack of the Spaniards, and that is almost 80% percent, where you can also appreciate the Inca caneles of original waters. The fortress was built to guard the entrance to this part of the valley and Machupicchu, to protect it from possible invasions. We will have the opportunity to walk through the streets of the town and thus have a clear idea of how this military, religious and cultural center was during the Inca Empire.

We will also visit the impressive Sacsayhuaman fortress that is strategically built on a hill from where you can see all of Cusco. It is famous for its huge carved stones, some of which are 9 meters or 30 feet high and weigh more than 350 tons.
Qenqo, located four kilometers northeast of the city of Cusco, has the archaeological groups of

Q’enqo Grande and Q’enqo Chico.
Etymologically, it means labyrinth or zigzag, served a purely religious function, being on the outside a semicircular amphitheater with trapezoidal niches and a monolith that simulates a puma which is approximately six meters.

Puka Pukara means “red fortress”, because the calcareous stones with which it is built have acquired the reddish coloration of the terrain, very abundant in iron. It is alleged that it had the function of protecting Tambomachay, an important palace in the Inkario.

  • TAMBOMACHAY

North of Cusco and very close to the ruins of Puka Pukara, it is an archaeological site that was dedicated to the worship of water and so that the head of the Inca Empire could rest. This place is also called Baños del Inca. It consists of a series of aqueducts, canals and several waterfalls that run along the rocks. The surprising thing about this is that from a main waterfall, the Incas created 2 secondary waterfalls, which are exactly the same. Maras was an obligatory step for the muleteers and their mule trains that transported the tropical products and especially the coca leaves from the high Cusco forest to satisfy the needs of the city of Cusco and the rest of the country.

  • MARAS

It has a church made of adobe, typical of the original religious architecture of the town, distinguished in the atrium a cross carved in granite; Inside the church we can find canvases of the Cusco school representing the apostles, whose author is the Quechua painter Don Antonio Sinchi Roqa Inka, who was a native of Maras and painted with great care and affection for his church.
